How to open file with .DIRECTORY extension?

.DIRECTORY is the file extension developed by KDE e.V for the needs of their proprietary software. The files with the .DIRECTORY extension belong to the "Settings Files " category. The full name of this type of files is KDE Folder View Properties. Files with the .DIRECTORY extension can be opened in several ways. The easiest is to install the manufacturer’s application. After downloading and installing the software in our system, files with the .DIRECTORY extension should be automatically associated with the new application.
