Après avoir téléchargé et installé le logiciel dans notre système, les fichiers avec l'extension .APP doivent être automatiquement liés à une nouvelle application. Grâce à une telle liaison, le fichier peut être ouvert à l'aide du double clic par la souris. Si on ne peut pas encore ouvrir le fichier avec l'extension .APP pour n'importe quelle raison, il existe aussi une autre méthode. Elle consiste à essayer d'ouvrir le fichier du niveau de l'application installée. On effectue la commande „Ouvrez” ou „Open” à l'aide du menu „FICHIER” ou „FILE” et on choisit le fichier concerné dans la fenêtre de l'Explorer pour l'accepter ensuite avec le bouton "Enter". Cette procédure prends plus de temps mais elle permet de constater définitivement si on utilise une application convenable pour ouvrir les fichiers avec l'extension .APP. Si on en est sûr, il faut utiliser le menu contextuel étendu (le bouton shift et le bouton droit de la souris) et en choisissant l'option "ouvrez par l'intermédiaire de" on choisit l'application convenable pour la lier définitivement au fichier ayant l'extension concernée
